About the Role

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

Clinical Research Delivered, Inc. (CRD) is a healthcare startup with a mission to accelerate the delivery of life-changing medical innovations by bringing clinical research visits directly to study subjects—in their homes and communities at convenient times—improving subject retention, trial completion and speed to market.

The intern will support a focused market research and marketing outreach project that explores clinical trial participation from the study participant’s perspective and translates findings into practical marketing content for sponsors and Clinical Research Organizations (CROs).

This is an applied, project-based role where you will conduct research, analyze insights, and help develop content that informs how CRD communicates the benefits of remote trial visits to industry stakeholders.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct secondary research on clinical trial participation from the study participant perspective (e.g., motivations, barriers, trust, preferences for home vs. clinic visits, engagement and dropout drivers).
  • Assist with gathering primary insights when possible (e.g., interviews, surveys, or engagement with individuals who have participated in clinical trials, under guidance from CRD and OWU supervisor).
  • Synthesize research findings into clear insights and recommendations that highlight what trial participants value and what affects their experience.
  • Support creation of draft content for PR, social media, and the CRD website that communicates the benefits of remote clinical trial visits for study participants and positions CRD to sponsors and CROs.
  • Help manage basic marketing outreach tasks related to this project (e.g., organizing findings, tracking content ideas, coordinating with CRD team members)
  • Attend regular in-person or virtual coaching meetings with the OWU supervisor and CRD team lead to review progress, receive feedback, and plan next steps.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks between meetings, managing time around coursework while meeting agreed-upon deadlines.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Currently enrolled Ohio Wesleyan University student.
  • Preferred class standing: junior or senior; strong sophomores may be considered based on maturity and readiness to work with external professionals.
  • Academic background in Business & Economics, Marketing, Digital Analytics, Finance, or related areas; students from other majors with interest in healthcare and business are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong written communication skills and ability to summarize complex information clearly.
  • Comfort with basic research tasks (web research, reading articles, organizing notes) and interest in learning more about clinical trials and healthcare.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and ability to engage with adult professionals in email, meetings, and potential interviews.
  • Self-starter who can work independently between coaching sessions and ask questions when needed.

Potential Future Career Benefit:

  • By the end of the internship, students can expect to:
  • Develop a deeper understanding of clinical trial participation from the study participant’s perspective.
  • Gain experience in applied market research and turning insights into marketing narratives and content.
  • Strengthen skills in professional communication, project management, and collaboration with a startup team.
  • Build portfolio-ready examples of research summaries and marketing content relevant to healthcare and clinical research.
