Human Resources Co-Op Student

Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission (APMC) is a Crown agent established under the Petroleum Marketing Act to enhance the value of Alberta’s petroleum resources. Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and implementation of APMC's summer student program, including researching best practices and developing program resources and processes.

  • Assist with recruitment activities, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, and onboarding.

  • Prepare recruitment, onboarding, and orientation materials to support a positive employee experience.

  • Document and maintain HR processes, procedures, and standard operating guides.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the employee handbook and other HR resources.

  • Prepare HR communications, reports, presentations, and training materials.

  • Maintain HR records and documentation while ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

  • Provide administrative support across all areas of Human Resources, including payroll, benefits, recruitment, policy development, and employee programs.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, or related degree or diploma program.

  • Eligible to participate in a recognized co-op or work-integrated learning program through an accredited post-secondary institution.

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple deliverables within a short time frame.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g.: Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.

  • Strong communication, both written and oral, with effective interpersonal skills 

  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
