ECC Veterinary Internship - ARH Brisbane 

About the Hospital 

ARH Brisbane, a specialist and emergency hospital at Sinnamon Park in Brisbane’s west, opened 9 years ago and has grown steadily since. Our purpose-designed, state of the art hospital offers 24/7 emergency and critical care services as well as internal medicine, small animal surgery, neurology and medical and surgical oncology. Facilities include a new dedicated critical care unit, in-house diagnostic laboratory, ultrasound, digital radiography, CT and MRI scanners and endoscopy. Equipment includes two ICU ventilators, high-flow nasal oxygen, ABL Flex 90 Blood gas analyzer, EZ-IO, MILA chest drains and PICC lines. 

About the Internship 

Interns work under the guidance of a critical care specialist and experienced emergency vets assisted by experienced nursing staff. Interns also have close involvement with our other professional services. Interns are expected to participate in daily rounds and weekly journal club or case presentations. They are encouraged, if eligible, to work towards completion of the ANZCVS ECC membership examination and/or peer reviewed publication within the year.

The position includes 4 weeks of annual leave, 1 week of study leave with a CE allowance and paid overtime. 

Requirements 

  • Candidates must be eligible for veterinary registration in QLD 
  • Have excellent communication skills and work ethic as well as a strong knowledge base on which to build. 
  • Clinical experience is essential. 

The internship will commence in January 2027 and is for 12 months with an option to extend to 18 months.
