QA/PV Internship Programme

Are you a recent graduate looking to kick-start your career in the healthcare industry?

Abbott South Africa is seeking highly motivated and ambitious graduates to join our Quality Assurance (QA) / Pharmacovigilance (PV) Internship Programme. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure within a global healthcare company and the chance to gain valuable experience across our Pharmaceuticals and Diagnostics businesses.

About the Role

As a QA/PV Intern, you will gain practical experience and exposure to key activities within:

  • Commercial Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Pharmacovigilance (PV)
  • Quality Management Systems
  • Product Quality and Compliance Processes
  • Adverse Event Reporting and Case Management
  • Regulatory and Healthcare Industry Standards
  • Cross-functional collaboration within Pharmaceutical and Medical Device environments

This internship is designed to provide graduates with meaningful learning opportunities, professional development, and insight into the healthcare industry's quality and safety functions.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A completed Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) qualification OR
  • A completed Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Life Sciences
  • You must not be currently employed, and ideally not have any formal work experience .
  • Available to start 1 September 2026
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
