We're not gonna do it alone though, and we're hiring a Business Intern. They will work directly with the CEO, COO, and crossfunctional teams across Business Operations. The position will support activities including but not limited to financial tracking, business reporting, documentation management, market research, presentation development, budgeting assistance, and supporting daytoday operational processes. The role will involve facets of business administration, financial analysis, project coordination, process improvement, and general business operations.
 

 

Main Responsibilities  

  • Support  initiatives, including mining customer database build-out, monthly market intelligence report updates, business plan updates, and presentation deck creation and updates. 
  • Support business development activities, including maintaining customer and partner databases, tracking global competitors, monitoring government procurement opportunities, and creating or updating presentation decks. 
  • Support market development work, including market landscape reporting, partner identification, monitoring government procurement opportunities, and presentation deck creation and updates. 
  • Provide general project coordination support for project work to help keep workstreams on track, including deck creation and updates as needed. 
  • Support proposal development by generating first drafts for RFP/RFSA responses, maintaining a reusable proposal library, and tracking funding opportunities across related programs. 
  • Maintain business development resources, including partner databases with capabilities, TRLs, past projects, and contacts. 
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor monitoring, including weekly competitor tracking and conference or event tracking for IAC, PDAC, Space Resources Week, SmallSat, and other relevant events. 
  • Support CRM cleanup and governance to improve data quality, consistency, and usability across business development activities. 
  • Conduct customer discovery interviews and synthesize interview notes into actionable insights for internal teams. 
  • Prepare presentations, documentation, summaries, and follow-up materials for internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams. 
  • Participate in team meetings, take notes, track action items, and coordinate timelines to support smooth departmental workflows. 

  

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Essential 

  • Currently pursuing 4th year of a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, or another related business field. 
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills, with a relevant writing or presentation sample provided during the application or interview process. 
  • Familiarity with economic analysis, cost–benefit frameworks, or financial evaluation methods, gained through coursework or academic projects. 
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to support data review and reporting tasks. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Forms). 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across teams. 
  • Highly organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Financial modelling skills.
  • Previous experience in consulting, investment banking, or venture backed company desired.


**Ability and willingness to travel between Waterloo and Toronto as required.

 

 

Must be eligible to work in Canada, and able to attain appropriate security clearances requisite with an space, defence, & nuclear company of this type. Candidates will be subject to background checks.
