About the Role

PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Kid’s Ministry Intern will have the opportunity to explore the in’s and out’s of Kid’s Ministry (as a calling) while providing valuable support and assisting in weekly ministry operations under the mentorship of the Kid’s Ministry Director, gaining hands-on experience for the purpose of helping kids and parents live out the mission, vision, and values of Neighborhood Church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in Ministry Leadership – Support the Kid’s Ministry Director in leading and facilitating weekly operations across nursery, preschool, and elementary environments.
  • Partner With Parents– Support efforts to engage and partner with parents, helping build a loving network of caring adults committed to guiding kids in faith, wisdom, and friendship.
  • Set Your Volunteers Up For Success
    • Schedule Volunteers – Coordinate and manage weekly volunteer schedules to ensure environments are properly staffed.
    • Provide helpful tools and resources.
    • Give leadership in creating inspiring and engaging environments.
    • Recruit world-class teams.
  • Develop Teams – Support, encourage, and equip volunteer leaders as they run thriving Kids Ministry environments.
  • Be FOR Our Community – Actively participate in local school and community events alongside the team to model being FOR the community.
  • Assist with Next Steps & Care Systems
    • Establish a robust guest follow-up process.
    • Provide age-appropriate “next steps” in helping kids live like Jesus.
    • Implement systems that convey worth and care to the kids.
