About The Company
Getsafe empowers people to take control of their futures by making informed life decisions and protecting what matters most to them. Getsafe challenges the traditional insurance industry with its unique technological platform, driven by the vision of delivering fair, accessible and tailor-made insurance solutions – all in one app. Expanding beyond conventional insurance models, Getsafe’s portfolio includes property and casualty insurance, as well as life and health coverage. All on one connected platform. With the introduction of features like family accounts, instant claims, AI-based advisory tools, and experts on demand, Getsafe reduces complexity and paperwork with smart assistants. This enables customers to proactively manage their risks and protect their assets and health. In 2021, Getsafe received its insurance license from Germany’s financial regulator, BaFin. Now, the company is a leading insurance brand among Gen Z and Millennials, insuring more than half a million customers. With €120 million in venture capital funding and the support of leading investors, Getsafe is on track to become Europe’s next-generation insurer.
About the Role

Building insurance people love

Getsafe guides people toward smart life choices and protects them when the unexpected happens. The idea started with a simple belief: insurance should feel simple, fair, and always accessible. Today, it powers one of the most highly rated and frequently used insurance apps, where AI agents and automation replace manual processes and complexity - enabling customers to manage claims, coverage, and personalized advice in seconds.

Since launching in Germany in 2018, we have grown into one of Europe’s most well-funded insurtechs, serving more than 500,000 customers. Headquartered in Heidelberg with an additional office in Berlin, our team of 150+ people builds and operates digital insurance products at scale.

In 2021, we received our insurance license from Germany’s financial regulator, BaFin, and today operate as a full-stack MGA. With more than €120 million raised to date, we continue to build a new standard for insurance: fully digital, AI-driven, and designed around real life.

What we're looking for

As an Accountant Intern (f/m/d), you'll support our Finance team in keeping our financial operations running smoothly while learning how accounting works in a tech-driven company. You'll work closely with Catarina, our Accountant, and gain valuable insights into day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and process improvements.

This is an onsite internship or working student position based in our Berlin office, with a minimum commitment of six months for interns and one year for working students.

What you will do

Invoice Handling & Pre-Bookkeeping

  • Review incoming invoices, verify payment details, and match receipts within our spend management tool (Spendesk).

  • Assist with pre-bookkeeping invoice preparation and preliminary account assignment.

  • Track incoming vendor invoices and monitor upcoming payment due dates to feed into short-term cash flow forecasting.

Process Automation & Optimization

  • Set up and refine rule-based automations in Spendesk to optimize auto-categorization of expenses.

  • Experiment with AI tools (such as Claude) to explore ways to make our accounting processes more efficient as we scale.

Financial Analysis & Team Support

  • Gather data on recurring supplier expenses and assist with benchmarking cost-reduction opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the Finance team on general administrative and operational accounting tasks.

What you bring

  • You're currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • You have gained initial practical experience through an internship, working student position, or similar role in accounting, finance, tax, or auditing.

  • You're comfortable working with Google Sheets.

  • You're curious about digital tools and excited to improve processes through automation (e.g. Claude).

  • You have a structured, reliable, and detail-oriented way of working.

  • You enjoy taking ownership and learning new things.

  • You're fluent in English. German is a plus, but not required.
