About the Role

Purpose


Schwing America is the premier manufacturer of concrete pumping equipment. This position is to support the Engineering staff for this ruggedized off road construction equipment. Gain real world engineering design experience. Your ability will determine how in-depth in our design activities you go. You will perform duties related to basic engineering functions. Assist engineers by modeling, detail drafting, and releasing engineering documentation as required. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, model, and detail piece parts and assemblies related to structural and mechanical design and hydraulic systems.
  • Complete Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Material Requirements Planning data entry in SAP.
  • Create and release Engineering documentation (i.e. drawings, ECOs, test reports, etc.)
  • Document current assemblies by dis-assembling and recording measurements and other pertinent information
  • Provide hands on support with prototypes, as needed
  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Requirements

 

Physical Demands:

  • Perform stationary work 85% of the time using a computer and applicable office equipment
  • Perform work on the production floor 15% of the time – observing and interacting with various departments 


Education/Skills/Experience:

  • General understanding of mechanical design principles
  • Enrolled in an accredited school currently pursuing a BSME degree at the sophomore or junior level.
  • Skilled using 3D Computer Aided Drafting programs, preferably Solid Edge.
  • Understand requirements and processes regarding fabrication, welding, machining and assembly of products.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize several tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic hands-on engineering experience 
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment with interaction with multiple departments
