About the Role

Job Description:

Supply Chain Planning Intern

Our intern program is tailored to individuals who are currently enrolled as full-time students at an accredited university. The internship runs for a 12-month period. The goal of the Huntsman Intern Program is to provide a structured experience that equips interns with the skills and exposure needed to prepare for a successful career.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical intern to join our Supply Chain Planning team. The Supply Chain Planning Intern will support planning activities across demand, supply, inventory, and production planning processes. This role will provide valuable exposure to end-to-end supply chain operations and contribute to maintaining material availability, inventory optimization, and customer service performance.

The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, comfortable working with data, and interested in developing a strong foundation in supply chain planning and analytics.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning Support: Assist planners in managing demand, supply, and inventory planning activities to support business objectives and customer service targets.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and validate planning data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Support inventory reviews by tracking stock levels, safety stock compliance, and inventory performance metrics.
  • Supply and Demand Alignment: Assist with demand and supply balancing activities by monitoring forecast changes, production plans, and material availability.
  • ERP Data Maintenance: Maintain and validate planning parameters, master data, and supply chain information in SAP and other business systems.
  • Reporting and KPIs: Generate and maintain reports related to forecast accuracy, inventory health, service levels, planning exceptions, and other supply chain performance indicators.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in projects aimed at improving planning processes, data quality, operational efficiencies, and system utilization.
  • Documentation: Maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and planning-related records to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.

 

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required due to specific business needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, International Trade, Operations Management, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum B2+ English proficiency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (Pivot Tables, formulas, data analysis).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze large sets of data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of Supply Chain Planning concepts, including demand planning, inventory management, production planning, or S&OP/IBP processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Understanding of supply chain performance metrics and KPIs.
