About the Job:


Analyze Project requirements in Projects & Engineering Department, prepare project Scope of works in co-ordination with concerned engineers, Quantity Takeoff, project cost estimation, Preparation of Project brief, Quotation Approval Forms, Project Planning, scheduling and monitoring activities for the assigned projects and monitor the performance of the concern Sections for the in-house projects and the Consultants and Contractors for out sourced Capital Projects to support the project objectives and ensure timely completion.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Project Management

 

  • Assists in the development of new project proposals, includes developing scope of works, budget estimates, collating all required information and presenting package to the Line manager for review and higher level approval.
  • Assists in management of construction projects, includes overseeing the development of the detailed project drawings interacting with contractors, administering sub-contracts as required and providing assistance in overall management control of the project.
  • Accurately determine the construction cost at project inception as the key to setting an achievable budget and assessing project feasibility. Prepare quotation including construction, refurbishment or maintenance concept.
  • Provides engineering and related technical advice on construction or related matters, preparing specifications and bills of quantity (BOQ's), liaising with engineers in other sections, etc.
  • Carries out other similar or related duties such as providing technical advice, preparation of tender specifications, writing of technical specifications, carry out technical evaluations, including preliminary estimates of labour, materials and equipment, checking of in-house and contractor’s drawings.

 

Tendering Process

 

  • Guide the preparation of job specifications and scope of work for contracting out work or specialized services; participate in the preparation of tender documents for all relevant services and assist in the technical evaluations of contractors/suppliers during the tendering process to facilitate effective selection of contractors to suit project requirements.

 

Budgets/ Estimates & Plans

 

  • Identify the Project Scope of works, quantity take off, cost estimation, receiving budgetary costs for material/services from external market as necessary
  • Coordinate and assist Project manager in the effective implementation of approved project schedules within set timelines and budget to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
  • Monitor and track the project deadlines/milestones and report to Project manager/line manager Assists in annual budget preparations by estimating annual maintenance and repair requirements; calculating materials usage and providing information on contractor and external service requirements based on annual maintenance plans and coordinate all related activities to ensure they are carried out in compliance with the approved budgets and time lines.
  • Ensure compliance to approved plans by team and support the achievement set quality standards.

 

Minimum Requirtments:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
  • 5 years’ experience in UAE/GCC with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Project Planning, preferably an Oil and Gas operating or petrochemical company
