In order to support us in Engineering Strategy, Airbus Helicopters is looking for an

Intern (d/f/m) Data Scientist - Engineering Strategy & Make-or-Buy Optimization

  • Location: Donauwörth

  • Start: as soon as possible

  • Duration: 3-6 months

Your location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we develop helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Support Make-vs-Buy Decision Modeling: Assist in the quantitative analysis of engineering projects to determine the financial and operational viability of in-house production versus external subcontracting.

  • Drive the "Large Work Package" (LWP) Framework: Aggregate and clean technical data to help define and structure high-value work packages for subcontractors, ensuring engineering requirements are clearly translated into procurement specs.

  • Quantify Social Responsibility (CSR) Impact: Develop and maintain tracking tools to measure the progress of the "Disability Friendly Company" initiative, linking social KPIs to overall departmental performance.

  • Engineering Data Consolidation: Collaborate with engineering leads to extract, transform, and visualize raw project data, identifying cost-saving opportunities or efficiency gains within the supply chain.

 

 Desired skills and qualifications

  • Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of Data Science or an equivalent field of study.

  • First practical experience in the field of Make or buy Modelling is desirable.

  • Fluent in English, German would be advantageous.

  • Data Synthesis & Visualization Sills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Industrial & Procurement Logic.
