About the Role

What are we looking for? 

We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Continuous Improvement Technician Co-op to join our Operations Excellence team and support the transformation of our manufacturing operations. 

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, the Continuous Improvement Technician Co-op will have the opportunity to work directly with manufacturing, engineering, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and operations teams to identify improvement opportunities, analyze performance, develop solutions, and help build a culture of continuous improvement across the plant. 

 

Co-op Term Duration:September 2026 – December 2026   

 

Essential Responsibilities   

  • Participate in cross-functional improvement projects from problem identification through implementation and follow-up. 
  • Conduct time studies and workflow analyses toidentifybottlenecks and recommend Lean improvements (e.g., waste reduction, process standardization)   
  • Assistin the implementation and sustainment of Lean tools (e.g., 5S, visual management, standardwork,..) 
  • Develop presentations, dashboards, reports, and visual management materials. 
  • Follow up on action plans and improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensure improvements are documented and sustained through appropriate standards and management systems. 
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset throughout the organization. 
  • Perform other activities related to Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence as required. 

Qualifications/Requirements   

  • In process of completing a diploma in a related discipline, such as Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or machining   
  • Experience working within a manufacturing setting   
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and blueprint reading   
  • Experience using CNC machines and hand tools safely.

  • Hands-on willing to spend time on the shop floor and understand processes firsthand.

  • Results-oriented focused on measurable and sustainable improvements. 
  • A strong communicator     able to explain ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
