As a Power Engineer Intern, a typical day might include the following:
Providing Technical support to SEL staff & customers.
Developing and maintaining knowledge in SEL processes and technologies.
Developing automation tools to support power system analysis, testing, and engineering workflows.
Performing testing on new and existing technology.
Documenting and communicating test results.
This job might be for you if:
You are a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with at least two years of technical coursework completed.
You have practical knowledge of electrical power systems, including three‑phase circuits analysis and power flow.
You have some knowledge of power systems operation, control and protection concepts.
You have some experience with MATLAB, Simulink or PSCAD for power systems simulation.
You are willing to learn more about SEL protective relays and automation controllers.
You have the ability to use Microsoft Office software.
You have the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
