About the Role
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented IT Project Management Trainee to join Hong Leong Bank's Program Management department for 3-month program. Working alongside experienced Senior IT Project Managers, you will gain hands-on exposure across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) in an enterprise banking environment. This role is designed to give you practical exposure to PMO governance, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and cross-functional team coordination within an enterprise IT environment.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities
1. Project Planning & Delivery Support

  • Scheduling & Tracking: Assist Senior PMs in developing, updating, and maintaining project schedules, task breakdowns, and timelines to ensure timely delivery.
  • SDLC & Methodology: Learn and apply the PMO’s governance framework and methodologies (Waterfall, Agile and hybrid SDLC models).
  • Resource Coordination: Help plan and track engagements across internal business teams, technical leads, and external vendor partners.

2. Governance, Risk & PMO Coordination

  • RAID Log Management: Maintain project Risk, Actions, Issues, and Decisions (RAID) logs; assist in tracking resolutions and escalating bottlenecks.
  • PMO Alignment: Support the central PMO in tracking project interdependencies, milestone health, and cross-system integrations.
  • Vendor & Service Management: Assist in tracking third-party vendor deliverables, compliance against scope, and outsourced change requests.

3. Stakeholder Communication & Operations

  • Meeting Facilitation: Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, distribute pre-read materials, and produce clean, accurate meeting minutes and action logs.
  • Status Reporting: Help draft concise, management-ready weekly/monthly project status reports for senior leadership and project teams.
  • Phase Closeouts & Post-Mortems: Support the team in conducting project post-mortems, capturing lessons learned, and maintaining organized project repositories.
