About the Role

Job Introduction

Serco is a partner of choice to the European Institutions and other International Organisations. We work closely with our customers to deliver custom-made and specialized services across International Organizations, Space, Immigration, and Defence. For the past 30 years, we provide tailored services for various public sector bodies including European Institutions, the Belgian Defence, the European Space Agency, and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Our expertise spans IT services, Facility Management, Space Research, and Operations.

We are looking for a motivated HR - Rewards & Benefits Intern to join our People & Culture team at Serco, helping us understand and enhance the benefits we offer across Europe, helping ensure our employees feel valued, supported, and happier at work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Research and map the employee benefits currently offered in each Serco EU country, accounting for local labour law, statutory minimums, and market practice.
  • Liaise and coordinate with in-country stakeholders (HR/People teams, business unit leads) to validate and complete the benefits data collected for each country.
  • Build a consolidated, country-by-country overview of benefits offered, structured for easy comparison and reporting.
  • Benchmark each country's benefits package against local sector/industry averages to identify where Serco is positioned above, in line with, or below market norms.
  • Highlight gaps, risks, and competitive advantages across the mapped countries, summarising findings in a clear and structured format.
  • Work with the People and Culture Director to develop recommendations, improvement areas, and potential new initiatives based on the benchmarking outcomes.
  • Support the preparation of a final summary report and presentation outlining findings and proposed next steps.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information from multiple sources into clear comparisons.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to manage a multi-country data collection and mapping project independently.
  • Strong written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus given the multi-country stakeholder coordination involved.
  • Comfortable engaging and coordinating with stakeholders across different countries and business functions.
  • Interest in HR, total rewards, benefits, or people strategy within an international organisation.
  • Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint (or equivalent) for data mapping and reporting.
