About the Role

IT Support Intern

Department: IT Shared Services
Location: Pegasus Corporate Suites, Georgetown

Job Summary

The IT Support Intern supports the IT Shared Services team through technical support, infrastructure administration, user account management, endpoint support, and technology operations activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise IT systems, cloud productivity platforms, cybersecurity practices, service management processes, and infrastructure operations. The successful candidate will contribute to initiatives that improve technology services, operational efficiency, and user experience while developing practical experience in a corporate telecommunications environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day IT operations and service delivery activities.
  • Support hardware and software deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Assist with user account administration and system access management.
  • Support endpoint management and device compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support IT service requests and incident resolution activities.
  • Work with enterprise platforms including Microsoft 365 and service management systems.
  • Participate in technology improvement and infrastructure enhancement projects.
  • Maintain system documentation, asset inventories, and operational records.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to resolve technical issues and support business operations.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining IT systems and infrastructure components.
  • Learn and apply IT security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of organizational information and technology assets.
  • Support special projects and other technology-related assignments as required.

Education & Experience

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technology discipline.
  • Strong interest in IT infrastructure, technical support, and enterprise technologies.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating environments.
  • Basic troubleshooting experience in hardware, software, or networking.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies or cybersecurity practices.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 or similar productivity platforms.
  • Technical certifications, coursework, or hands-on technology projects are considered an asset.
  • Interest in IT operations, infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and technical support services.

Working Conditions

Office-based work environment.

Standard office equipment, Microsoft 365 applications, enterprise IT systems, and technical support tools will be used regularly.

The role requires prolonged periods of sitting and working with computers, technology platforms, service management systems, and infrastructure tools.

Regular interaction with employees, vendors, and cross-functional teams across the organization.

Salary Scale

Monthly Stipend: GYD $120,000

The successful candidate will receive practical experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to enterprise IT infrastructure, technical support operations, cybersecurity practices, cloud technologies, and technology service delivery within a corporate telecommunications environment.
