Job Summary
The Fleet Support Intern supports the Transport & Mechanical Workshop team through fleet administration, vehicle maintenance coordination, record management, and operational support activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to fleet operations, vehicle servicing, maintenance scheduling, workshop processes, and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will contribute to initiatives that support the efficient operation of the company's fleet while developing practical experience in a corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine vehicle inspections and condition assessments.
- Support maintenance scheduling and service tracking activities.
- Update and maintain fleet maintenance records and documentation.
- Assist with inventory tracking for parts, tools, equipment, and workshop supplies.
- Support filing, record keeping, and fleet administration processes.
- Help maintain workshop organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards.
- Observe and assist with basic fleet maintenance activities under supervision.
- Support fleet projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
- Assist with monitoring vehicle servicing and maintenance requirements.
- Follow established safety procedures, workshop standards, and fleet policies.
- Collaborate with fleet personnel, technicians, and operational teams to support departmental objectives.
- Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of fleet records and documentation.
- Support day-to-day workshop and fleet operations activities as required.
Education & Experience
- Recent Secondary School Graduate.
- Strong interest in pursuing studies and a career in Mechanical Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively when required.
Preferred
- Interest in vehicles, mechanical systems, and fleet operations.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance principles.
- Exposure to workshop environments, automotive studies, or technical subjects is an asset.
- Interest in fleet management, transportation operations, or mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrated initiative and willingness to learn new skills.
Working Conditions
Office, workshop, and field-based work environment.
Standard office equipment, fleet management records, workshop tools, and Microsoft 365 applications will be used regularly.
The role requires a combination of administrative duties, workshop activities, and field-based vehicle inspections.
Regular interaction with fleet personnel, service technicians, vendors, and stakeholders across the organization.
Salary Scale
Monthly Stipend: GYD $120,000
The successful candidate will receive practical experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, workshop administration, and mechanical systems within a corporate environment.
