About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Research Intern preforms routine laboratory research and development tasks. Works with a multidisciplinary term. Under direct supervision, performs a variety of basic and general laboratory research tasks as determined by the field and scope of the research project.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works primarily with R&D Research team providing peripheral help with research efforts.

  • Assist in sample preparation

  • Assist in simple experimental planning and execution.

  • Recognize and escalate equipment and instrument malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

  • Perform other tasks as specified by the manager/director

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program.

  • Completion of at least one Biology or equivalent course

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Communication skills: Verbal and Written

  • Able to work independently or as part of a team

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, evolving environment and manage competing priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Duties are typically performed in an office setting

  • This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.

  • May require lifting or moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
