About the Role

Job summary

The Photo Studio Assistant Intern will support the Photo Studio Manager and the Programme Leader in executing studio operations and creative projects. This includes assisting in the preparation and execution of photo shoots, maintaining studio equipment, and providing administrative and organizational support to ensure the studio runs efficiently.

Key purpose of the role

  • Ensure all studio activities align with the studio’s guidelines and professional standards.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down studio equipment, including lighting, cameras, backdrops, and props.
  • Help maintain studio cleanliness and organization, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
  • Provide on-set support during photo shoots, such as adjusting lighting, positioning props, and organizing equipment.
  • Act as a stand-in for lighting and composition tests when necessary.
  • Assist in coordinating and preparing materials for photo sessions.
  • Support the team with file organization, transferring images, and basic photo editing or retouching (if applicable).
  • Maintain an organized archive of digital assets and ensure backups are up to date.
  • Welcome students to the studio, assisting with their needs and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Assist with events, workshops, or ad-hoc activities.
  • Help manage studio schedules, bookings, and inventory of supplies.
  • Assist with shooting in support of students and school activities when necessary/needed.

Education and desirable skills

  • Basic knowledge of photography, studio lighting, and using DSLR/mirrorless cameras
  • Familiarity with Adobe tools (Photoshop, Lightroom) and general image organization
  • Ability to set up/pack down studio equipment safely and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time‑management skills
  • Good teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced studio environment

Salary: 23,132.00 gross per year on a pro-rata basis
