As part of the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Discipline, you’ll immerse yourself in the Systems V Engineering Lifecyle, bringing cutting-edge systems to life. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, from subject matter experts to chief technologists, ensuring systems are designed, integrated, tested, and strengthened to perform flawlessly for our warfighters.

This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus with the possibility of occasional travel.

What You Will Do:

In this Systems Engineer role, you may support the following types of activities:

  • Core Systems Engineering: Update, develop, maintain, and improve requirements, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and define system interfaces.
  • Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing.
  • Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact.
  • Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which may include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages.
  • Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification execution.
  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Document and Communicate: Develop integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, verify requirements and effectively communicate results to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Present Findings: Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Drive Performance: Collaborate across functions to drive performance improvements and resolve system issues.
  • Decision analysis & Resolution: Conduct trade studies and present results to stakeholders.
  • Support Missions: Travel as needed (potentially up to 25%) to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 0+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date
  • Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, systems test, systems software, and/or systems hardware.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the Defense Industry specifically with military systems and procedures.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering Product Cycle.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification.
  • Experience with generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, test procedures, or technical reports.
  • Experience in developing and managing system requirements.
  • Experience with model-based systems engineering and associated tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, and Cameo.
  • Experience with data analysis and presenting analytical and technical material.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
