As an intern in the Air Data System design engineering group, you will have the opportunity to advance Collins Aerospace’s market leading technology, such as the Smartprobe®. The products you will be working on provide flight critical information and are installed on a variety of commercial, business, and military aircraft applications. This role has the flexibility to gain both hands-on experience in our lab, as well as electronics design experience.
This role is onsite, in Burnsville, Minnesota.
What You Will Do:
- You will participate in the development of air data products
- You will do modeling and simulation of devices, circuits, or systems.
- You will do evaluation of electrical components for design suitability
- You will do testing and troubleshooting of electronic circuits in a laboratory environment.
What You Will Learn:
- You will learn electronics design processes.
- You will learn the integration process of MEMS sensors into electronic designs.
- You will learn troubleshooting and failure analysis.
- You will learn about the management of electronics lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or Electrical Design Engineering or an applicable Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session.
*Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.*
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Currently enrolled with at least 60 credits hours earned toward a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Completed laboratory courses which utilize oscilloscope, power supplies, and multimeters.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
