PAW Health Network is a 24-Hour Animal Care Center that provides an array of diverse services offered to the community! These services include: Walk- Ins, Routine Care, Emergency Care, Urgent Care, Canine Blood Donation Program, and our Service Dog Registry Program. We have numerous relationships and contracts with local organizations that we are extremely active in! Job Description

We’re looking for:  

  • 1st through 4th Year Veterinary Students

PAW Health Network is seeking motivated DVM students to join our veterinary team in Kronenwetter for a comprehensive externship program. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a professional veterinary healthcare setting while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff. As a DVM Student Extern, you will apply your foundational veterinary knowledge in a real-world clinical environment, develop practical skills, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.

  • Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures under direct supervision
  • Perform routine clinical tasks including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and basic laboratory work
  • Observe and participate in surgical procedures, dental work, and other specialized veterinary services
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using veterinary practice management systems
  • Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care and treatment options
  • Demonstrate proper animal handling and restraint techniques in a safe and humane manner
  • Support the clinical team in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
  • Participate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes animal welfare and client satisfaction

Qualifications

Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
