Enterprise Risk

Brief Overview:

The Enterprise Risk team is a second line of defense function within SGX, and supports senior management and the units within the organization to manage the organization’s risks and to maintain business continuity.

Learning Objectives:

The intern will be able to undertake risk management activities in a financial institution such as:

• Execution of risk and control programs within the organization
• Understanding of the management of third-party risks, technology and infosecurity risks, business continuity risks
• Risk analysis, management, and reporting
• Business impact analysis
• Application of AI-enabled tools to support risk analysis, reporting and knowledge management
• Use of automation and workflow tools to improve efficiency of risk management processes
• Prompt engineering and responsible use of Generative AI in a regulated financial institution
• Data analytics and visualization techniques for risk monitoring and decision-making

Job Description:

As an intern in the Enterprise Risk Unit, you will:

• Work closely with external and internal stakeholders (e.g. risk champions, BCM champions) to facilitate review of the Enterprise Risk programs.
• Assist with execution of Enterprise Risk Management programs (e.g. risk and control self-assessments, business impact analysis).
• Participate in the planning and execution of risk engagement activities to drive risk culture in the Group.
• Conduct analysis of processes and controls to identify gaps/areas for improvement and assist with process redesign.
• Conduct research and analysis for risk-related matters (e.g. identification and assessment of emerging risks).
• Prepare reports to Senior Management and Board/Board Committees.
• Leverage AI and data analytics tools to support risk reporting, trend analysis, research and preparation of management presentations.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate risk management processes through the use of AI, workflow automation and productivity tools.
• Support the development of dashboards, reports and automated workflows to improve risk monitoring and data quality.

Knowledge and Skills requirements:

To meet these objectives, you should:

• Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a dynamic environment
• Able to work independently as well as collaborate with various stakeholders, proactively keeping their seniors on work progress
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft suite (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Knowledge and ability to use Data analytics related tools (Python, PowerBI, etc.) is a plus
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or similar AI solutions) for research, reporting and productivity enhancement is an advantage.
• Interest in applying AI and automation technologies to improve business processes and operational efficiency.
• Basic understanding of prompt engineering, data quality considerations and responsible AI usage is a plus.
