About the Role

About Us

Pathway Communications is a leading Managed IT and Cybersecurity Services provider serving organizations across Canada. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HR Intern to join our Human Resources team. This internship offers hands-on experience across talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, HR administration, and compliance while working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Assist with job postings on various job boards, social media platforms, and recruitment channels.
  • Source and screen candidates for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone screenings and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Track candidate progress through the recruitment process using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Maintain and update candidate databases and talent pipelines.
  • Support employer branding initiatives and recruitment marketing campaigns.
  • Participate in career fairs, networking events, and campus recruitment activities.
  • Assist in preparing recruitment reports and hiring metrics.

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Support the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Prepare welcome packages and onboarding documentation.
  • Coordinate orientation sessions and new employee introductions.
  • Ensure employee files and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist in employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

HR Administration & Support

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
  • Support HR projects, policy updates, and process improvements.
  • Assist with employee relations activities and administrative HR tasks.
  • Help prepare HR reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team as needed.

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Assist with maintaining employee information in HR systems and platforms.
  • Support data entry, reporting, and record management activities.
  • Gain exposure to HR technologies, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and HRIS platforms.

Compliance & Best Practices

  • Ensure confidentiality of employee and candidate information.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Stay informed about current HR trends, recruitment strategies, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Preferred / Good to Have

  • Previous internship, co-op, volunteer, or administrative experience in HR or recruitment.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or HR software.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment standards and HR practices.
  • Progress toward CHRP designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with social media recruiting and employer branding initiatives.
