Job Summary

As an Aerospace Algorithms Engineer Co-op at MORSE you will be working on a broad set of applications developing novel physics, statistical, mathematical, and machine learning  models for use in mission planning, modeling & simulation, and machine learning applications. MORSE is looking for engineers with a strong background in physics, aerospace, robotics, math, and statistics who are also able to develop their algorithms in software to function efficiently and be readily testable.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own algorithms throughout their lifecycle, including conception, development, documentation, deployment, and testing.

  • Process and analyze raw data

  • Simulate and validate algorithmic performance using dynamic systems.

  • Present technical work through white papers, analysis test reports, and oral presentations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of algorithms into software solutions.

Skills and Requirements

The candidate must have the ambition to own mission planning algorithms for their entire lifecycle: conception of the solution, development, documentation, deployment in software, and testing. Most importantly, the candidate must be passionate about developing solutions that are fieldable!

  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

  • Working towards a MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, Physics or other relevant field
  • Proficiency in Python algorithm and software development practices.

  • Strong background in physics, math, and statistics.

  • Experience with developing algorithms and simulations.

  • Experience simulating dynamic systems to test and validate algorithmic performance

  • Experience describing systems via equations of motion derived from first-principle engineering analysis

  • Experience presenting technical work through white papers, analysis test reports, and oral presentations

Other desired skills

  • Experience with digital signal processing, algorithm development, & AI/ML

  • Experience with radar and radar processing 

  • Knowledge of aero performance and/or GNC as applied to aircraft

  • Background in numerical methods 

MORSE Corp’s pay range for this role carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to, prior experience, education, skills and expertise, location, internal equity, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need. Therefore, final offer amounts may vary from the amount stated.
