Macmahon is seeking motivated graduate who are passionate about Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) to join our structured early career professional program. This role provides hands on operational exposure, professional development, and mentorship across Macmahon’s mining and corporate environments. Successful candidates will build their capability within a leading mining contractor organisation that is committed to developing its people, fostering innovation, and delivering operational excellence.

 

As an early career HSEQ Advisor, you will participate in a structured development program designed to build your knowledge, technical capability, and leadership skills within the mining industry. The programme encompasses a blend of field and office based experiences where you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced HSEQ professionals, operational leaders, and training teams within a supportive team environment. 

 

 

Role Details:

  • Location: Macmahon Head Office – Perth
  • Roster: 5:2 Monday to Friday Head office based | 8:6, 2:1 Site based

Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ systems across mining operations.
  • Assist with workplace inspections, hazard identification, risk assessments, safety interactions, and compliance activities.
  • Support incident and near miss reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking.
  • Conduct field based observations.
  • Monitor critical risk controls, including isolation procedures, working at heights, mobile equipment interactions, and hot works.
  • Assist with environmental monitoring and compliance and reporting activities.
  • Compile, analyse, and report HSEQ performance data and key metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the development and review of procedures, guidelines, and risk management documentation.
  • Participate in audits, training delivery, meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support HSEQ governance activities, including action management, contractor compliance, and project support.

 

 

What you'll Bring

  •  A recent or upcoming degree qualification in: Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field or Graduate Diploma
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for safety, environment, and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with operational and corporate stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A willingness to travel and undertake site-based rotations across Western Australia.
