Financial Institutions Intern 

 
Internship Period: 11 January 2027 – 30 June 2027 

This position sits within the Financial Institutions team in the Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Asia Pacific. The Financial Institutions Group is a coverage unit, providing client solutions across the Banks, Institutional Investor, Sponsors, Public Sector, Insurance, and Diversified Financials segments. We are looking for a high performing intern to join our team of business managers and FI management to drive the business growth across our front office organization. 

Job Description 

  • This position assists the business in (I) developing strategic initiatives for FI business development as a regional hub, jointly with the spoke countries of the coverage region, (II) implementing them with FI Relationship Managers in the region and internal partners across MUFG, and (III) assisting in the smooth execution of all the business matters ultimately to deliver financial targets. This role will focus on the growth of the Financial Institutions business in Asia. 

  • Work as the primary analyst on a key FI Asia projects which will be submitted / presented to the Co-Global Head of Financial Institutions for business consideration/adoption.  

  • Work with various experienced stakeholders and learn different Banking products related to Investment Banking, Institutional Investors, Sponsors Global Markets, Transaction Banking, Treasury etc.). 

  • Work with coverage banking, solutions and business management teams and understand including but not limited to, business proposals, credit and financial analysis, deal execution, KYC, AML and management.  

  • Written and verbal communications, including developing presentation materials and presenting to business partners & senior management. 

  • Collaboration with business partners to gather information, analyse progress and create buy in for recommendations.

  • Problem solving, including developing and testing hypotheses, qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis driving to feasible solutions. 

  • Supporting senior management with project management by planning & structuring work.

Job Requirements 

  • Keen eye for detail and proficiency in MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel).  

  • Attention to detail and desire to deliver high quality outputs. 

  • Ability to work under strict timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • “Can-do” attitude and ability to learn new topics quickly. 

  • Strong written and spoken English proficiency is needed. 

  • Be a trusted partner, who can collaborate across regions/ teams to deliver best in class results.

  • Capable to work independently and within teams to drive success for the organization.
