We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Intern to support the Procurement and Supply Chain team in daily purchasing and supplier management activities. The intern will gain hands-on experience in sourcing, supplier coordination, RFQ management, purchase order processing, cost analysis, and procurement operations while contributing to business objectives and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Support
- Assist in preparing and issuing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to suppliers.
- Support the evaluation and comparison of supplier quotations.
- Follow up with suppliers on quotations, delivery schedules, and documentation.
- Assist buyers in procurement activities for projects and operational requirements.
Supplier Management
- Maintain and update supplier databases and records.
- Support supplier onboarding and qualification activities.
- Assist in gathering supplier documentation such as certifications, registrations, and compliance records.
- Monitor supplier performance indicators and delivery commitments.
Purchase Order Administration
- Assist in creating and processing purchase orders in ERP systems.
- Track order status and delivery schedules.
- Verify procurement documentation and ensure records are properly maintained.
- Support invoice matching and payment follow-up activities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Prepare procurement reports and spend analysis.
- Support cost benchmarking and market research activities.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain procurement trackers and dashboards.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding procurement requirements.
- Support project teams in obtaining procurement-related information.
- Participate in procurement and supplier meetings when required.
Requirements
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:
o Supply Chain Management
o Procurement
o Business Administration
o Engineering
o Finance
o Logistics Management
o Or related disciplines
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong willingness to learn procurement and supply chain processes.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Knowledge of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain concepts.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is an advantage.
