Job Title: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Intern

About Us:

Wesley International is a manufacturer of material handling equipment, specializing in pallet trucks and electric utility vehicles under the "Pack Mule" brand. The company provides custom-engineered solutions for manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers to help move and manage materials efficiently.


Position Summary:

The EHS Intern works under the direct supervision of the Safety Manager to support environmental, health, and safety initiatives across all company operations and facilities. This position provides hands-on exposure to EHS programs, compliance documentation, and process improvement activities. The intern will collaborate with teams to promote a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace across the organization.


Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in reviewing and updating Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventory documentation.
  • Participate in safety walks, inspections, and risk assessments across multiple facilities.
  • Contribute to the development of safety audit forms and checklists.
  • Assist in drafting or updating safety procedures, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hazard identification, corrective actions, and safety improvements.
  • Assist in compiling, reviewing, and analyzing safety data, trends, and audit results.
  • Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management and sustainability initiatives.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Work performed in both office and shop environments across multiple facilities.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
  • May be exposed to noise and manufacturing conditions during shop activities. 


Requirements: 

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (experience with databases or Power BI is a plus).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments and facilities.
  • Interest in workplace safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.
