Traineeship Project Description:
Hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)is an emerging dielectric material with excellent thermal stability, high electrical resistivity, low dielectric constant, and strong potential as a thermal interface material(TIM)for advanced semiconductor packaging. This internship project focuses on the development and characterization of PECVD-grown h-BN thin films for thermal management applications in advanced packaging structures.
The intern will first undergo structured laboratory training for approximately one month, including hands-on exposure to key thin-film characterization and processing tools such as FTIR, SEM, ellipsometry, XPS, electrical measurement tools, and the PECVD system. Under the guidance of senior researchers, the intern will support thin-film growth, process monitoring, and material characterization activities for h-BN films development.
By the end of the internship, the intern is expected to summarize the key findings in a scientific report and present the results to the project team. The work will provide practical experience in thin-film deposition, semiconductor materials characterization, data analysis, and technical communication in an industrial R&D environment.
Desired Skills Required:
- Basic knowledge of materials science, thin films, and semiconductor processing
- Basic understanding of dielectric materials and electrical characterization
- Basic knowledge of DOE(Design of Experiments)and data analysis
- Ability to summarize experimental results in written reports and presentations
