About the Role

Intern  Industrial Engineering
(Based at Unichela - Panadura)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend meetings for new customer inquiries and product development projects to understand requirements. 

  • Assist in preparing accurate SMV (Standard Minute Value) calculations and costing information for new styles. 

  • Provide updated SMV breakdowns to factories to support capacity planning and machine allocation. 

  • Prepare and share accurate Tech Pack information, including final SMVs and sewing construction details, within deadlines. 

  • Support factories by clarifying sewing methods, SMV calculations and addressing production-related concerns. 

  • Help identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency. 

  • Assist in resolving issues during production start-up and ongoing production by coordinating with relevant teams. 

  • Follow company systems, standard procedures, and standardized methods to ensure consistency and accuracy across all styles and customers.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Final year undergraduate or Graduate in Physical Science, Operations Management, Textile Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and professional manner, both verbally and in writing, to engage stakeholders and ensure alignment.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing positively to shared goals and supporting overall team success.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to efficiently manage documents, data, and presentations.
