About the Role

The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support projects and initiatives at MAPEI’s West Chicago manufacturing facility. You will gain hands-on experience applying mechanical engineering principles to equipment, processes, and continuous-improvement projects in a live manufacturing environment. This experience may lead to future full-time engineering opportunities within corporate engineering or field operations.

  • Support engineering projects involving manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Help develop/update equipment drawings, specifications, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze equipment and process-performance data.
  • Assist with preparing project plans, reports, presentations, and other deliverables.
  • Support preventive maintenance, reliability, safety, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, operations, and other cross-functional teams.

The Program Details

  • Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
  • Internship duration: May–August 2027 (12 weeks)
  • Practical, hands-on learning at MAPEI’s West Chicago manufacturing facility
  • Host location: West Chicago, IL
