The Genetics Assistant Co-op student will provide assistance to clinical staff in servicing patients. Duties will include, but are not limited to, assembling academic literature for clinical staff, coordinating genetic testing and liaising with genetic testing laboratories, tracking patient lab results, entering data into research and clinical databases, and providing administrative support to clinic staff.
• Enrolled or completion of a degree in a science field
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as evidenced by previous work requiring such skills
• Mature, dependable and pleasant
• Sensitive individual with the ability to relate to patients
• Demonstrated tact and discretion in dealing with patient information
• Demonstrated self-starter as evidenced by personal initiatives, such as community or school activities
