Intern-Quality Assurance (Central Lab)
Labcorp is seeking an Intern-Quality Assurance (Central Lab) to join our team at Shanghai, China.
Internship Details:
- Duration: 20 weeks, full-time/Onsite
- Dates of Internship: Jan – May 2027
- Compensation: Paid internship
- Eligibility: Final-year students who are expected to graduate in July 2027 are preferred.
However, students at all academic levels who are pursuing relevant fields of study are encouraged to apply.
About Team:
The Central Lab Quality Assurance Department provides independent oversight of clinical trial operations to ensure strict compliance with ISO 15189 standards, CAP, NMPA regulations, study protocols, and corporate quality procedures. Through rigorous inspections, audits, quality management system (QMS) oversight, and regulatory support, the department guarantees the integrity, reliability, and regulatory acceptance of clinical trial study data while driving continuous quality improvement across the organization.
As a QA Intern, you will systematically immerse yourself in international medical laboratory standards, robust quality management systems, auditing methodologies, and evolving regulatory compliance frameworks. You will gain invaluable, hands-on experience in ISO 15189 accreditation preparation, sponsor audit assistance, and NMPA inspection highlights. Utilizing industry-leading platforms like the Veeva QMS, you will develop the analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills necessary to launch a successful career in the global pharmaceutical and clinical trial industries.
Internship Assignment Summary:
- ISO 15189 Standards: Master the regulations, requirements, and accreditation processes for medical laboratories.
- Quality Management Systems (QMS): Gain practical experience in building and operating medical lab QMS.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead with deep insights into NMPA inspection priorities and mandate requirements.
- Audit & Inspection Management: Learn best practices for managing audits and inspections within the pharmaceutical sector.
- Veeva QMS: Acquire hands-on proficiency in navigating and operating the industry-leading Veeva quality management platform.
- Global Industry Exposure: Build a comprehensive understanding of international quality management frameworks across the pharma and clinical trial sectors.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Work directly with elite quality and compliance teams to rapidly accelerate your professional capabilities and career trajectory.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology, and Immunology Bachelor's degree program.
- 3 months or more experience using computer and office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly responsible and detail-oriented with strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Possess foundational laboratory knowledge with a strong passion for pharmaceutical R&D, clinical research, or biotechnology industries.
- Interest in Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Clinical Trial, or Bioanalytical Sciences.
- Strong English reading and writing skills; CET-6 or equivalent certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong team-player mindset.
- Enthusiastic, self-confident, proactive, and driven by a strong desire to learn and grow.
