As a tax intern, you will work alongside Honkamp team members by applying the skills learned in the classroom to real-world, business-impacting projects and provide tax proficiency to your assigned section.

A Typical Day in the Life:
As a tax intern, you will work alongside Honkamp team members by applying the skills learned in the classroom to real-world, business-impacting projects and provide tax proficiency to your assigned section.
Responsibilities may include:
- Effectively document work.
- Prep level 3 and 4 returns.
- Develop an understanding of tax process, becoming efficient in scan/assembly/verification procedures.
- Develop an understanding of basic income tax returns and various tax extensions and deadlines.
- Assisting with data entry and maintaining tax-related records.
- Assist in administrative functions.
- Become familiar with various scan, tax, workflow, verification, and other software.
- Act as an ambassador to the universities.

Qualifications:
- No prior experience or training required -- candidates should be pursuing a degree in an accounting-related field.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365.
- Experience with, or ability to learn, the operation of basic office equipment.
- Demonstrated skills in the areas of time management, communication and problem-solving.
- Prolonged periods of working on a computer and ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (e.g. sitting at a desk).
- Ability to work in a shared office environment with moderate noise levels.
