About Zipline
Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.
Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.
Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.
We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
About the Commercial Marketplace Team
The Commercial Marketplace team runs the operating system that connects site-level conditions to commercial action. We track marketplace health across each site, cohort, and metro, balancing demand, selection, customer experience, capacity, utilization, and profitability. By partnering with Product, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Sales, we identify the right levers - such as prioritization, promotions, pricing, and demand shaping - and help turn them into scalable programs. Our work helps Zipline grow healthy marketplaces while protecting service quality and making the best use of scarce operational and commercial resources. What makes the team special is its combination of quantitative analysis, marketplace judgment, and hands-on execution.
The Role
As a Commercial Marketplace Strategy & Operations Intern, you will help answer questions like what is happening at a site, which sites are best suited for a given growth program, and where capacity or customer experience constraints may limit growth. You’ll use data to prepare readouts, surface opportunities, test hypotheses, and support decisions across Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Utilization. You will learn how marketplace levers such as selection, partner prioritization, pricing, promotions, and demand shaping work together in a real delivery network. Your analyses will inform decisions that improve marketplace health, help scale what works, and expand reliable access to goods.
What You'll Do
- Evaluate and build the playbook for marketplace levers such as pricing, promotions, partner prioritization, pricing, promotions, budget allocation, demand shaping, and customer-experience protection.
- Analyze site and cohort performance to identify where to prioritize sales resources, marketing actions, product rollouts, operational playbooks, or other growth programs.
- Build and maintain recurring reports and dashboards, partnering with Analytics as needed to improve visibility into site, cohort, and metro performance.
- Support daily and weekly site-level performance readouts across marketplace health, growth, efficiency, utilization, fulfillment, customer outcomes, and profitability.
- Monitor aircraft availability, fulfillment throughput, throttling, and operational constraints; surface risks that could affect growth plans or customer experience.
- Partner with Commercial, Operations, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Utilization to turn insights into action, measure results, and scale what works.
What You'll Bring
- Currently enrolled in a master’s degree program.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using spreadsheets or similar tools to organize, analyze, and communicate data.
- Ability to investigate performance at different levels of detail - from a single site to a cohort or metro - and turn findings into a clear recommendation.
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting findings to cross-functional partners.
- A collaborative, self-directed working style and curiosity about marketplaces, logistics, and how technology can improve access to goods.
- Able to work full-time onsite in South San Francisco for the duration of the Spring 2027 internship.
