Build the Future With Us. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists on projects that power and connect communities. From buildings and transportation infrastructure to industrial and energy projects, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of electrical systems while developing the technical skills needed to build a successful engineering career.

Your Impact

You will help shape the future of electrical engineering projects through meaningful technical contributions and collaborative problem-solving:

  • Support the design and analysis of electrical systems for buildings, infrastructure, industrial, and energy-related projects.
  • Assist with electrical load calculations, equipment selection, and design documentation.
  • Prepare drawings, specifications, reports, and technical memoranda that contribute to project success.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and multidisciplinary project teams to develop innovative solutions.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, condition assessments, and field investigations.
  • Review applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements to support compliant designs.
  • Assist with project coordination activities, documentation, and communication across project teams.
  • Contribute to project outcomes that enhance communities, improve infrastructure, and support sustainable development.

 

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering degree program.
  • Returning to full-time studies upon completion of the internship term.
  • Strong interest in electrical systems design, power distribution, building systems, infrastructure, industrial facilities, or renewable energy projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or other engineering software is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with an eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a consulting environment.
  • A valid driver's license is considered an asset for positions involving fieldwork and site visits.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 – $32.25 per hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25 per hour
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 – $30.25 per hour
