SALARY RANGE: $16 - $17/hr   

 

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Serves as the MiField Agronomy Intern under the direction of the Area Agronomy Manager. Utilizing data, information, and in-field observations to advance South Central FS’s go-to-market strategy to turn data into insights. Performs regular inspections of customer crop fields to monitor MiField trials. Responsible for analyzing MiField imagery, data support, and assisting with other agronomy technology functions. This internship creates opportunity to build experience with FS Crop Specialists, the Precision Ag department, and direct interaction with grower customers. This opportunity will include hands-on skill development and experience with Precision farming, tissue sampling, in-field trial evaluations, sales experience, customer interaction and more.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work with crop specialist on utilizing MiField technology, and discuss and deliver results with recommendations to customers.

Operate field research and crop monitoring equipment and technology.

Monitor trials weekly and perform in-season assessments.

Complete tissue sampling of trial fields and others as needed.

Utilize drone and satellite imagery to collect data.

Successfully adhere to safety rules and company policies and procedures. EHS, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures must be adhered to at all times.

All other duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires at least one year of college experience in an ag-related degree program. Valid Driver’s License is required. Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.  In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for bonuses, incentives, and commissions.
