TRUMPF is seeking candidates for an internship in the production Department at our Farmington, CT location. This internship will provide a college-level student with practical and professional experience that will enhance and compliment their classroom learning.

Internship Duatlon: Onsite in Farmington, CT from January 2027 to August 2027 for at least 32 hours a week.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist and lead projects for the SYNCHRO department

  • Create current state analysis to define baseline and implement systematic problem-solving approaches for better future state

  • Create Work instructions and SOPs

  • Learn the tools and manage a project to help TUS and SYNCHRO meet their goals and objectives.

  • Participate in 5s workshops, TPM, line balancing activities and general project management to improve production department.

  • Must have the ability to understand and communicate information effectively both verbally and electronically

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.

Experience

  • The ideal candidate would have practical experience in a manufacturing environment (i.e. past internship)

  • Experience with MS Office software packages and specifically Visual basic Programming / Advance Excel knowledge

  • Experience with 3D-Modelling software preferable SolidWorks

Education/Requirements

  • The ideal applicant would have a background in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering (combination of engineering and economical studies is also acceptable)

  • Analytic skills and thoroughness required

  • Good communication skills and creativity are essential

  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently is required

  • Must be a student enrolled in an accredited university or institution pursuing an undergraduate’s degree in a related field.
