Job Description

Are you interested in a co-op opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) degree to participate in 6 month co-op opportunities at our site in Latham, NY.  Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company. 

In this Electrical Engineering co-op, you will focus primarily on testing key components to support the development and maintenance of superconducting MRI magnet products and technologies. 

Your role:

  • Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electronic controllers and superconducting magnets.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to printed circuit boards.

  • Collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop and implement design solutions.

  • Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes.

  • Document test results and provide detailed reports on findings and recommendations.

You're the right fit if:

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.

  • You have hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, setting up and executing test protocols.

  • You have knowledge of safety protocols and standards in a lab environment.

  • You have experience with 3D modeling, circuit design and analysis tools, finite element analysis and other engineering tools.

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • You are self-motivated with a strong desire to learn.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $26.00 to $29.00, plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
