Worthington Enterprises is seeking a hard-working student intern to assist with purchasing functions within the Cylinders business. The Purchasing Intern supports the Purchasing Department by placing purchase orders, working with vendors on confirming orders, working with plant personnel on any order discrepancies, and completing miscellaneous projects as needed. The student intern will gain experience in procurement for the cylinders manufacturing industry, and will learn about one of the world’s leading pressure cylinder manufacturers. This role will be full time during the summer and part time during the school year.
Responsibilities
- Place purchase orders as needed
- Maintain accurate delivery information for p/o’s in our ERP system
- Research any p/o or invoice discrepancies
- Work with suppliers to expedite orders as needed
- Complete vendor returns
- Follow all departmental procedures for placing p/o’s
- Generate and maintain reports as needed
- Complete other miscellaneous projects
Desired Experience
- Operations Management, Purchasing, or Supply Chain majors Preferred
- Available full-time 40 hours during summer and part-time during the school year
- Minimum of 2 years college completion
- Must be hard-working, responsible, and reliable
- Must be able to think critically to solve daily issues
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
