OPPORTUNITY

As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will support the Finance and Accounting team by assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, data analysis, accounting support, and other projects that inform business and financial decisions.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with financial and operational data from across the organization and develop an understanding of how finance and accounting support a commercial real estate investment company.

You will work on multiple projects and interact with professionals across several functions, including Finance, Accounting, Transactions, Asset Management, Land, and Development. This internship is designed for a student interested in applying accounting and financial concepts in a collaborative, real-world commercial real estate environment.

Responsibilities

SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL

  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of budgets, financial reports, reconciliations, and accounting schedules 

  • Analyze financial and operational results to identify trends, variances, and key business drivers 

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and periodic financial reporting processes 

  • Assist with budget-to-actual, account, and financial statement variance analysis 

  • Compile, organize, and validate financial data from multiple sources 

  • Help prepare financial summaries, presentations, and other materials for management 

  • Support the development and maintenance of financial reports, dashboards, and related analysis tools 

  • Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and other business teams to gather information and better understand financial performance 

  • Assist with process improvement, reporting efficiency, and accounting workflow initiatives 

  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc finance and accounting analyses 

  • Perform other essential duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy

  • Pursuing or nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or a related field 

  • Accounting degree or emphasis preferred 

  • Strong interest in financial planning and analysis, accounting, corporate finance, or commercial real estate 

  • Understanding of fundamental accounting and financial concepts 

  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial and operational data 

  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly through written summaries, presentations, and visualizations 

  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to produce reliable work 

  • Ability to prioritize assignments, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines 

  • Strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and desire to learn 

  • Familiarity with financial reporting systems, accounting systems, business intelligence tools, or data visualization tools preferred
