About the Role

Are you a curious and proactive student with an interest in data engineering, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms? Do you get energy from solving problems, improving processes, and working in a professional environment? Then we are looking for you!

As a working student, you will support our Data & Analytics team in developing, maintaining, and governing our enterprise data platform. You will work alongside experienced data engineers, architects, and governance specialists to help build reliable data pipelines, organise datasets, and contribute to the quality and security of our data landscape.

What will you be doing as a working student Data Engineer?

  • Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines across our cloud data platform;

  • Assist in transforming, organising, and optimising data using modern data engineering practices;

  • Help implement and support the Medallion architecture across the data environment;

  • Contribute to the operational processes of the data platform, including quality checks, governance tasks, and metadata updates;

  • Support automation and workflow improvements using DevOps practices;

  • Help prepare reports, documentation, and overviews on platform usage and data quality;

  • Actively contribute ideas on how we can make data processes smarter, more scalable, and more efficient.

This vacancy is perfect for you because you:

  • Are currently pursuing a hbo or wo study, preferably in a field related to IT, data science, computer science, engineering, or business & IT;

  • Are available at least 2 to 3 days per week;

  • Work accurately, are structured, and enjoy understanding how systems and data connect;

  • Are interested in data engineering, cloud platforms, and data governance;

  • Have a good command of English (Dutch is beneficial but not required);

  • Have a proactive attitude and enjoy being part of a professional team.

And importantly — you have at least two of the following foundational skills and are willing to learn the rest:

  • Python

  • PySpark

  • SQL

  • Azure DevOps

  • Data governance concepts (e.g., metadata, classifications, Purview)

  • Identity & access concepts (e.g., Entra ID / RBAC)

  • Cloud data concepts (lakes, pipelines, warehouses)

  • Modern data architectures, such as the Medallion model

Experience with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory) is not expected — we will teach you.

We fully recognise that students may not yet have all the required skills — what matters is your enthusiasm, foundational knowledge, and willingness to learn.
