Scalable Energy storage enclosures are tailored to suit different battery technologies and racking systems as well as ventilation and fire-suppression fixtures. Designed to UL9540 Code requirements for ESS and container. AVL Manufacturing’s design for a variety of applications is sized to suit each applications specific needs. Thanks to the modular and standardized packaging solutions, planning and installation can be significantly reduced.

AVL is looking for students for a co-op opportunity! Founded in 1998, AVL has grown into a North American leader in turnkey engineering, manufacturing, and assembly solutions. Job Summary:

The Purchasing Co-op Student will support the procurement and supply chain team in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and maintaining inventory records. This role provides hands-on experience in purchasing operations, supplier management, and business process improvement within a fast-paced environment. This opportunity is a short term contract running from September 2026 for 4-8 months.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating and processing purchase requisitions and purchase orders in the ERP system.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support sourcing activities by comparing vendor pricing, lead times, and quality performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, supplier information, and contracts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., production, finance, engineering) to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Help track supplier performance metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
  • Support general administrative tasks related to procurement documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in process improvement or sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.

Job Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled or recent graduate of a Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related program.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP systems is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Analytical mindset with interest in cost optimization and process efficiency.
