JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Trade Fulfillment Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with marketing, planning, scheduling, and accounting. In this role, your work will play an integral part in understanding and executing on the details of the business functions in the most efficient way possible. This is an on-site role located in Wichita, KS. Responsibilities include:

  • Proficiently managing communication lines between the accounting, planning, and logistics groups.

  • Identifying process and system improvement initiatives thereby increasing collaboration between the groups.

  • Ensuring proper execution of transactions and trades through various systems from the entry point to the final settlement.

  • Obtaining and maintaining an understanding of the necessary financial controls and requirements and applying them to the day-to-day order execution process.

  • Learning and understanding the economic intent of trades and transactions.

  • Assisting with exchanges and direct sale trade positions (volume and price) being balanced.

  • Assisting with required deadlines from the accounting group for pricing, distributions, settlements, and month-end reporting.

  • Since we are all about teamwork and getting the job done, your skills may be put to a lot of other uses!

The POET Never Satisfied Internship openings are for Summer 2027. We post Internships in early September with the intention of having interns selected by November 1st.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Possesses or is seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an accounting emphasis

  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial topics.

  • Grasps and understands business concepts and issues.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a sense of urgency that drives results.

  • Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn new programs.

  • High level of personal integrity

  • Interpersonal skills – ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within/outside the organization

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail

  • The ability to work in a team environment

  • The ability to multi-task, establish and meet deadlines

  • An enjoyment of working with data, research, and reconciliation and considers this a personal strength

  • The ability to maintain Excel formulas and processes

  • The ability to adapt well to work environment changes

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Wichita POET office is a fully open-concept design with no offices. This design is intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
