Job Description

Are you a highly motivated finance, accounting, or IT student with a passion for data and problem-solving? Pilot Company is seeking a Financial Systems Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee for the summer of 2027. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of accounting and information technology, playing a key role in maintaining and enhancing our core financial systems. 

In this role, you'll be a key part of our Financial Systems team, which is responsible for the maintenance and integrity of our general ledger system. Your work will directly impact how our company operates by ensuring the financial structure and data hierarchy are accurate and up to date. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on a blend of technical challenges and financial processes. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger system, including adding business units, accounts, ledgers, etc. and ensuring the proper structure and hierarchy. 

  • Support the team in managing and analyzing large financial data sets. 

  • Work on projects that require both a financial and a technical perspective. 

  • Collaborate with various departments across the company to ensure system accuracy and efficiency. 

  • Provide support to team members on day-to-day tasks related to system maintenance and improvement as well as internal financial reporting. 

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For 

  • A student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or Information Technology. 

  • A senior (set to graduate in May or December 2027) is preferred. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to handle and analyze large data sets. 

  • Experience with other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Infor, Microsoft Access) is a plus. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the company. 

  • A professional and authentic approach to your work and interactions. 

  • A driven and reliable individual who is eager to learn and contribute to a team.
