About the Role

In the Product Engineer Intern position, you’ll support new product development and launches across a growing portfolio of innovative products. You’ll gain hands-on engineering experience by researching products and technologies, supporting product testing and prototypes, and contributing to cross-functional development projects while building your skills in areas such as Quality Management Systems, business planning, and patent research.

What You’ll Do and Impact:

  • Research products, components, and emerging technologies to develop specifications for new product introductions that create value for customers.

  • Contribute to product development projects led by senior engineers, helping accelerate development from concept through launch.

  • Support cross-functional project teams in identifying and evaluating high-value opportunities for new and innovative products.

  • Review business plans and recommend technologies that support desired product and business outcomes.

  • Apply technology and AI tools to research and development activities to simplify processes, strengthen insights, and improve products.

  • Develop and perform product comparison testing and establish standards for evaluating product performance.

  • Create concept sketches, engineering drawings, logic diagrams, and other technical documentation to support prototypes and new product concepts.

  • Influence & Collaborate - Build trust, communicate clearly, and work across boundaries to drive action and shared outcomes. Seek and integrate different perspectives, contribute ideas, work through dependencies, and help teams make progress together through change and ambiguity.

  • Strong curiosity and motivation to explore AI capabilities such as natural language processing, computer vision, or generative models.

Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a technical degree program in Engineering, Quality, Sciences, Technology, or a related field.

  • 3 or more semesters remaining before graduation.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision with effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, take accountability for assignments, and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on work approximately 10–20% of the time.

  • Eagerness to learn and apply new software, technologies, and engineering tools.

  • Ability to work approximately 20–25 hours per week during the school year and approximately 40 hours per week during the summer.

Additional Items of Interest:

  • SolidWorks experience.

  • Exposure to product development, prototyping, product testing, Quality Management Systems, or related engineering processes.

  • Interest in applying AI and emerging technologies to engineering and product development.
