About the Role

The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.

 

Summary
The Environmental Engineering intern will help ensure environmental compliance across various business groups,streamline work for our existing department, organize data into valuable tools to use in the future, participate inprojects, and develop a broad experience within the environmental field for their own development.


Key Responsibilities
Environmental reporting and database management including but not limited to source testing, locationsummaries, Enablon support (Compliance Module), etc.
Field work at Food Plants and Mining & Manufacturing Facilities: this can include job shadowing andparticipation in air stack testing, groundwater sampling, sump monitoring, and various other field work.
Field work in Southeast Idaho: this can include various environmental monitoring (surface water, groundwater,soil, vegetation, fish) at the Don Plant, Conda Mine, Gay Mine, Smoky Canyon mine.
Environmental Records Management: this will include organizing files for facilities in preparation of final siteactivities and/or due diligence, environmental assessments, and other historical file management as needed.

Typical Education
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from 4 year college or university
