Applied Intelligence

Brief Overview

Applied Analytics & AI - Applied Solutions team is part of Exchange Operations, delivering data-driven solutions and advanced analytics to support SGX's business and operational objectives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud engineering.

As an intern, you will contribute to initiatives that automate and enhance business processes using AI technologies and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work with large-scale trading data from SGX's derivatives markets, helping to develop and enhance analytics capabilities on BigQuery and modern cloud-based data platforms.

The role provides hands-on experience in AI prompt engineering, data analytics, data engineering, and cloud technologies, while exposing you to real-world business challenges. You will have the opportunity to build practical, production-ready solutions, work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, and contribute to the next generation of SGX's data and analytics architecture. In addition to project work, the intern will assist with BAU activities, providing opportunities to understand operational workflows and contribute to the team's ongoing responsibilities.

 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine AI prompt engineering solutions to support automation and data processing workflows
  • Design and build Python computation modules for internal reporting and processing systems on GCP and Big Query
  • Implement and maintain efficient, scalable, and reliable Python code for data processing and automation
  • Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of developed features to ensure production readiness
  • Maintain and enhance existing BAU Python processes, ensuring stability and performance
  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate requirements into practical solutions
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows through automation and AI-driven approaches


Knowledge and Skills requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in Python, including data processing and scripting
  • Familiarity with or exposure to AI prompt engineering / LLM-based workflows
  • Basic understanding of cloud platforms (preferably GCP), Big Query
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Keen interest in financial markets, trading systems, or exchange-related data
