Job Description
Solidigm is seeking talented and motivated graduate students for our Firmware Engineering and Validation Internships in Gdańsk, Poland. This evergreen posting supports multiple internship opportunities across firmware development, embedded software, and firmware/software validation for Solidigm's data center SSD products.
As an intern, you will work on real engineering challenges supporting firmware features, test environments, debug workflows, and validation of SSD and storage-related technologies.
This internship is ideal for graduate students who enjoy solving complex technical problems, working close to hardware, and applying software and debugging skills to real-world firmware and validation challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Interns may be assigned one or more of the following responsibilities based on project needs, team priorities, and individual strengths:
- Contribute to firmware features, tools, test environments, or debug workflows for SSD and storage-related technologies.
- Support validation of firmware or system-level functionality; execute test plans; analyze failures; reproduce issues; and assist with root-cause analysis.
- Develop or improve test scripts, tools, and automation frameworks to improve validation efficiency, coverage, and reporting.
- Analyze test results, logs, and product behavior to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including firmware, validation, hardware, and architecture.
- Create clear documentation for tools, test methods, debug findings, and project deliverables.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, C, or C++.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development or test environments.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a technical team environment.
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with firmware development, embedded software, device drivers, or low-level systems programming.
- Familiarity with SSDs, NAND flash, NVMe, PCIe, or storage systems.
- Experience with software validation, test automation, debug tools, or regression frameworks.
- Exposure to test-plan development, failure reproduction, or root-cause analysis.
- Experience building automation using Python, shell scripting, or test frameworks.
- Familiarity with performance analysis, log analysis, or telemetry.
